Cut adrift
This video documents a 24hour audio installation as part of Sanctuary Lab 2017 in the Dark Skies Forest in Galloway.
A selection of found, handwritten letters and notes were read out by various people and recorded. It was important in this context that the people were not voice-over artists. Two audio devices were located next to two trees - one crab apple and one hawthorn. Playback was triggered by infrared switches.
Transcriptions of the original handwriting can be seen here. I've been collecting these hand written bits of text for about twenty years off and on and have a fairly large collection now of varying interest. Names and locations have been changed for obvious reasons.
