Corner

From July 2016 through to July 2017, I repeatedly photographed the same insignificant corner not far from my home, while out walking the dog. Its a patchy collection because I didn't always remember to bring my phone with me. Much of my work is made as part of, or at least conscious of, a sense of journey. Such processes can require that an 'end' or completion is imposed out of necessity on work that is actually continually evolving. The attempt with Corner / portal was to invert this approach and anchor a passage of time to an insignificant and fixed place - as it were to turn my back on that passage of time. The project evidentially was only a partial success in that the corner ultimately became another journey. Also on the last day of photographing while I stood in the corner and looked out I realised inevitably that the corner had in fact become a place of deep significance to me.
